Specialist Areas
Dr Daniel Silva has particular experience in Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), concussion and brain injury, and neuropsychiatric presentations where neurological and psychological difficulties overlap.

Drawing on his background in both clinical psychology and neuropsychology, he takes a thoughtful, individualised approach to understanding complex presentations.

His work considers how neurological, psychological and wider life circumstances may interact, helping to develop a clearer understanding of each person's experiences and needs.

Functional Neurological Disorder

Living with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) can affect independence, confidence, relationships and everyday life, particularly when symptoms feel unpredictable or difficult to explain.

Dr Silva offers specialist neuropsychological support for adults with an established FND diagnosis. His approach recognises that symptoms are real and does not assume they are necessarily caused by trauma.

Working collaboratively, Dr Daniel Silva explores how neurological, physical, emotional and everyday factors may interact. Treatment is tailored to individual needs and may focus on managing symptoms, fatigue, confidence, emotional wellbeing and meaningful activities, alongside medical care or wider rehabilitation where appropriate.
Concussion & Brain Injury
Although many people recover well after concussion, some experience ongoing difficulties with fatigue, concentration, memory, sleep, confidence or everyday activities.Â

Dr Silva takes a whole-person neuropsychological approach, considering the history of the injury alongside cognitive and physical symptoms, emotional wellbeing, sleep, fatigue and the impact on daily life.

Assessment and treatment are tailored to individual needs and include reviewing medical records, cognitive assessment where appropriate, psychological therapy and practical rehabilitation strategies. The aim is to develop a clearer understanding of the difficulties and identify realistic ways forward, without assuming symptoms are entirely neurological or psychological.

Neuropsychiatry
Neuropsychiatric difficulties can arise where neurological conditions and mental health needs overlap, affecting cognition, emotions, behaviour and everyday functioning. These presentations can be particularly complex when several factors contribute to a person's experiences.

Drawing on his background in complex mental health and clinical neuropsychology, Dr Daniel Silva provides specialist neuropsychiatric assessment and psychological support. His approach focuses on understanding the individual rather than relying solely on diagnostic labels.
