Clinical Supervision
Dr Silva offers clinical supervision for qualified psychologists, psychiatrists and therapists delivering psychological therapies, with other professional arrangements considered by discussion.

He aims to create a space where clinicians can feel safe to be uncertain, question their practice openly and think carefully about work that feels complex, emotionally demanding or stuck. Supervision may be particularly helpful when several factors are interacting at once, for example trauma, cognitive change, neurological illness, relationship difficulties and longstanding mental health needs, and it is not immediately clear which perspective should guide the work.

Drawing on experience across neuropsychology, neuropsychiatry and complex mental health services, including work with brain injury, dementia, psychosis, bipolar disorder and personality-related difficulties, Dr Silva supports clinicians to integrate psychological and neuropsychological perspectives into assessment, formulation and intervention.Â
Dr Silva offers specialist consultation to multidisciplinary teams and allied health professionals, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, nurses, case managers and rehabilitation teams.

This may be particularly helpful when psychological, cognitive or neuropsychiatric factors are affecting engagement, treatment progress or the therapeutic relationship. Consultation creates space to step back and consider the whole clinical picture.

Consultation can be arranged as a one-off case discussion or ongoing support for a wider team, without requiring Dr Silva to take over the person’s clinical care.
Teaching, Training & Team Consultation
Dr Silva provides bespoke teaching and training for healthcare professionals, rehabilitation teams and organisations seeking to strengthen their understanding of psychological and neuropsychological care.

Training can be tailored to the needs of the team and may include Functional Neurological Disorder, concussion and persistent post-concussion symptoms, acquired brain injury, psychologically informed rehabilitation, and core mental health knowledge for professionals working outside specialist mental health services.Â
